Project Description:
Western Area Power Windy Gap Substation to Granby Power Plant 69kV Transmission Line Rebuild Project - Class III Cultural Resources Inventory - Grand County - Colorado
RMC Consultants, Inc. (RMC) conducted an intensive cultural resources inventory for Western Area Power Administration of two alternative routes for rebuilding the existing 12-mile long Windy Gap Substation to Granby Pump Station 69kV transmission line.

The project is located between the towns of Granby and Grand Lake, Colorado along the west side of Lake Granby and the Colorado River.

Prior to the initiation of the intensive pedestrian inventory, an extensive records and literature search was conducted to obtain as much background information on the cultural resources of the area.

More than 60 cultural resources were documented and evaluated for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

Impacts to all resources from the two alternatives were evaluated for use in the preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and management recommendations were provided.
