Mine Site Removal Action / Golden Age Mine Mine Site Removal Action – Golden Age Mine
RMC conducted a Site Removal Action (RA) at the abandoned Golden Age Mine in the Colorado Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest. The RA was performed to consolidate and cap mine tailings across the site, construct settling ponds to control and passively treat adit water, and return native vegetation to tailing impacted areas.
Soil Removal Actions / Atlas Missile Sites 9, 11, and 13 Soil Removal Actions – Atlas Missile Sites 9, 11, and 13
RMC conducted a Soil Removal Action at three former Atlas Missile Sites located in Weld and Laramie Counties, Colorado. Soil Removal Actions (RA’s) were performed at Atlas “E” Missile Sites 9, 11, and 13 to remove polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) contaminated soils from the former missile sites, as well as chromium contaminated soils from Site 9.
Site Investigation / Soil Removal Action / Red Feather Lakes Work Center Site Investigation / Soil Removal Action – Red Feather Lakes Work Center
RMC was tasked to perform various field removal actions and to investigate potential contaminant releases to the subsurface from past activities at the Red Feather Work Center, approximately 23 miles west of the town of Livermore, Colorado.
Atlas Missile Site 9 Monitoring Well Closure / Destruction – Atlas Missile Site 9
RMC conducted monitoring well closure activities at the former Atlas “E” Missile Site 9 located in Hereford, Colorado. The primary purpose of this investigation was to purge and sample five existing groundwater monitoring wells to confirm groundwater impacts are below regulatory standards and perform subsequent well decommissioning activities.
Project / Time Critical Removal Action / Doctor Mine Site Time Critical Removal Action - Doctor Mine Site
A time critical removal action (RA) was performed at the Doctor Mine Site. The RA was performed to consolidate mine waste material, contour waste material and clean fill, remove a waste-rock access road, construct drainage diversion ditches to control mine water discharge, and revegetate the consolidated waste rock, access road, and former mill site.
Site Inspection and Expanded Site Inspection / Titan 1, Missile Site 2, Complex 2C Site Inspection and Expanded Site Inspection – Titan 1, Missile Site 2, Complex 2C
RMC conducted two separate soil and groundwater Site Investigations at the former Lowry Air Force Base (AFB) Titan I, Missile Site 2, Complex 2C, as a result of chlorinated solvents being detected in a groundwater sample from a domestic well located adjacent to Complex 2C.
Mine Safeguard Project / Silverton, Colorado Mine Safeguard Project / Silverton, Colorado
RMC completed the safeguarding (i.e. closure) of 20 mine shafts and adits in Silverton, Colorado. The project consisted of closing mine openings using backfill by hand, and machine, as well as rock bulkhead, and steel grate closure methods in accordance with the Colorado Inactive Mine Reclamation Program General Bid Specifications.
Tailings Removal and In-situ Treatment / Kerber Creek Tailings Removal and In-situ Treatment / Kerber Creek
RMC conducted eight distinct tailings removal or in-situ treatment projects along Kerber Creek, Saguache County, CO. The project was performed to remove impacted tailings from the banks of Kerber Creek; place tailings within on-site repositories; reconstruct stream banks to their natural conditions; and plant native vegetation over the impacted areas with the intent of restoring the area to its earlier, undisturbed condition.
Mine Safeguard Project / Argo Mine Mine Safeguard Project / Argo Mine
RMC completed the safeguarding (i.e. closure) of nine mine shafts and adits at the abandoned Argo Mine in the Arapaho-Roosevelt National Forest. The project included closing two shafts with polyurethane foam (PUF), and seven additional shafts and adits by machine backfill.
